And I am going to bed! Good night.

One Week Countdown

I probably should have been posting more about this all along, but... you know, life can get pretty busy sometimes. Anyway...

The final countdown has begun: Our new baby girl has been scheduled for arrival next Friday, July 27.
(07-27-07 - We like that! And Caden's B-day is Sep 27, so I'm loving the easy-to-remember dates!)

We're very busy getting things ready... cleaning, packing Em for the hospital, setting up the crib and room, etc. Not to mention, I'm still trying to do as much website work as I can now because I imagine I won't have much time in the week or two afterwards!

Because we have family and friends all across the country, I've just added a little PayPal donation button to my website (and the sidebar). I thank you in advance for any amount that you're able to give! Your gift is very appreciated.

I promise to post all the vital stats, as well as some pics, as soon as I can.
(Note to self: Buy tapes for video camera tomorrow!)

Thank you for all your prayers and support. I will keep you posted.

Meanwhile, I'm sure there's more for me to do. (Emily is a great list-maker!) I better go check to see what's next....

I'm back! ...Mostly

Yes, I realize you didn't know I was gone...

At the end of April, I started getting the dreaded 'blue screen' errors in Windows. Recognizing this as a sign of imminent doom, I began to back-up my files! Within a day, my computer was completely crashed. (It would reboot continuously, freeze, or not boot at all.)

A very long story, short: I spent hours on the phone with tech support and on hold. I was eventually able to get to a place where I could save all my important files. (Thank you, Jesus!) After reformatting and reinstalling Windows several times, I was granted a new motherboard. It took over a week for the local tech service company to contact me (and only after much harassment from me!), but eventually I got my part!

Programs were installed. Files were transferred. Settings and various utilities have been tweaked and configured.

Finally, after many headaches, my system is restored!

There will still be odds and ends to fix as I get back to business, but all-in-all... I'm back!

Thank you to all my clients and friends, who have been so patient during this time! I promise to answer every e-mail and message that I have not yet.

For now, back to work... Boy, I've got a lot to do!

Happy Easter!

You know, usually I put off the holiday photos until a more convenient time. As you might imagine, that time never comes. At Christmas, I decided I wouldn't let that happen; I was going to do it right away... Have you seen them? Exactly...

Well, today is different!
Check out theCaden.com for today's Easter photos!
Enjoy!

I hope you had a great holiday.

Website Finished for ECR

Now, I can show you what I've been working on...
(And why I knew I wouldn't have much time to post here.)

I just released a new website for East County Referrals, Inc.

(Just for the record, other recently released projects include Rattan Interiors and insuranceQuote2Go.)

The new site went live last evening. Since then, I've been tying up loose ends, emailing members announcing the release, and organizing both my mental and physical work spaces.

There's a rush and feeling of euphoria as a site goes live. It's exciting, and I anticipate the feedback I'll receive over the next few weeks. Of course, I hope for good words, but that's not always the case! ...Sometimes it seems certain projects are never done!

There is also a tendency to veg... to procrastinate... to want to do nothing. It's interesting how as you develop a project, your momentum carries you on (for the most part). At the end, there's joy, as I mentioned, but there's also a tremendous weight... and it's hard to do anything else.

Oh well... No time for joy or sorrow... Can't let the weight drag me down... There's too much to do!

On to next project.

... well, maybe first to bed.

Where am I?

Who am I? What year is this? What's a "blog"?
***
Are you kidding me? It's 2007, and I don't have a blog?

Oh yeah... Now I remember... It's because I thought I'd never have time to post often enough. But now after seeing how often you update your blog, I realize it doesn't really matter so much. Thanks!

So, yeah, I guess that's what I'll do... In my spare time, when I'm not busy being a dad, a husband, and a self-employed graphic and website designer, I'll take a few moments to let you know what's happening. After all, it's the least I can do after all you've shared with me.

No promises on how often you'll see an update here, but I'll be looking forward to seeing you around, nonetheless.
